Our Story

Chaye Alexander is the visionary and brand architect of Chayz Lounge and Chayz Lounge Radio, where smooth jazz meets soulful sophistication 24/7.
​
With Chayz Lounge, Chaye has redefined hospitality not as service but as a feeling. The venue reflects her Sophisti-Soulphilosophy: Curated Moments. Soulful Sounds. Elevated Experiences. Every detail is designed to create moments that linger long after the last note fades.

What began in 2009 as an internet radio station quickly grew into a global favorite, celebrated for its signature blend of smooth jazz and soulful grooves. Building on that success, Chaye opened Chayz Lounge in 2017 in the back room of Nonnah’s restaurant.
​
In 2019, she relocated the Lounge to its current home at 607 Meeting Street in West Columbia, SC, where guests enjoy exceptional live music, delectable cuisine, and expertly crafted cocktails in an intimate, elegant setting.

A multidimensional creator, Chaye Alexander is the author of Earn The Return: A Musician’s Guide to Getting Gigs & Being Invited Back.

Her influence extends beyond the Lounge and her writing. Chaye serves the arts community as Musical Director for the Columbia Museum of Art’s Live at Boyd Plaza concert series and the Richland County Parks and Recreation Foundation’s Jazz Fest.
Chaye also serves on the board of the South Carolina Jazz Foundation and is the visionary behind West Columbia’s Meeting Street Music Fest, helping to foster a vibrant and enduring music culture throughout the community.
