Our Story

Before there was the venue, there was the radio station.
​
Spoken jazz artist and author Chaye Alexander is the visionary behind Chayz Lounge, shaping its atmosphere through sound, intention, and refined detail. Rooted in her Sophisti-Soul philosophy of Curated Moments. Soulful Sounds. Elevated Experiences., she reimagines hospitality as a feeling rather than a service.

In 2009, she launched Chayz Lounge Radio, a 24/7 global streaming station blending smooth jazz with soulful sophistication. As the station grew, so did the vision of a physical space reflecting that same elegance.

That vision became reality in 2017 with the opening of Chayz Lounge, later relocating in 2019 to its home at 607 Meeting Street in West Columbia’s River District. Today, the Lounge offers thoughtfully crafted cuisine, curated wines, and exceptional live music in an intimate atmosphere designed for lingering.

As its popularity grew, the dream of creating a physical space that reflected the same soulful sophistication began to take shape. In 2017, Chaye expanded her vision into a boutique venue bearing the name Chayz Lounge, renaming the station Chayz Lounge Radio to carry its legacy forward.

Today, Chayz Lounge Radio continues to delight millions of music lovers around the globe with Chaye’s expertly curated blend of smooth jazz and soul, streaming 24/7.
